FEBRUARY 19, 1983--Teen band Kajagoogoo TOPS the U.K. charts with the Nick Rhodes/Colin Thurston-produced "Too Shy".
FEBRUARY 26, 1983--"Hungry Like the Wolf" climbs to U.S. #3. It hits the charts in all major territories around the world and is a million-seller. "Rio" (the ALBUM), which has been slowly climbing the US charts since June 1982, hits #6 and will also become a million-seller during its 129-week stay.

MARCH 26, 1983--"Is There Something I Should Know" debuts at U.K. #1, with Duran Duran joining a small number of acts, including Elvis Presley, Clff Richard, and the Beatles, who have achieved this feat (which, up until the late '80's, remains a rare achievement).
MAY 14, 1983--"Rio" (the SONG) hits U.S. #14
AUGUST 6, 1983--"Is There Something I Should Know" hits U.S. #4, becoming another million-seller. It is added to the U.S. version of the group's first album "Duran Duran", which climbs to U.S. #10, another million-seller.
NOVEMBER 5, 1983--"Union of the Snake" hits U.K. #3
DECEMBER 3, 1983--"Seven and the Ragged Tiger" TOPS the U.K. chart for one week.
